Good day!
This is PhilLife!
Not long ago, I heard about Hangeul School, which is affiliated with the Korean International School located in McKinley Hill, Taguig City.
At first, we thought it was simply a place to learn Hangeul (the Korean alphabet), so we didn’t pay much attention.
However, we later found out that it is actually a program where children can learn Korean subjects and Korean culture together.
What Is Hangeul School?
Hangeul School operates only on Saturdays and is designed for Korean students who attend local or international schools in the Philippines.
The academic year begins every January
The curriculum is based on the Korean education system
Classes are conducted entirely in Korean by Korean teachers
More Than Just Classes
In addition to regular subject classes, the school offers many special programs, such as:
Guest lectures
Writing contests
Children’s Day events
Children’s song singing contests
Korean history camps
Hangawi (Chuseok / Korean Thanksgiving Day) sports events
These activities make learning much more enjoyable and meaningful for children.
From Online to Face-to-Face Classes
For the first few weeks, classes were held via Zoom while the school facilities were being refurbished.
This week, face-to-face classes officially started, and it was nice to watch the children learning in person.
Elementary students study core subjects and music
Kindergarten focuses on whole-person education
The children really enjoyed being taught in Korean, especially by Korean teachers.
Our Children’s Reactions
Our youngest child, who has no previous kindergarten or school experience, joined the kindergarten class and is already waiting excitedly for Saturday to meet her teachers and friends.
Our older children are also excited—especially about the Korean snacks sold at the cafeteria π
Tuition and Fees
Tuition is normally paid in two installments per year
We paid 14,000 PHP per person, which included about a 22% discount for the one-year early payment period
First-time students pay an additional 1,000 PHP admission fee
Final Thoughts
I’m sharing the information materials I received below.
For more details or inquiries, you can contact the school through the Korean International School website or the contact information provided in those materials.
Raising children always teaches me something new.
Thank you for reading.
Have a happy day! π
